1. Run CHKDSK

To run CHKDSK,
- Click on search box and type '' cmd '' .
- Right click on cmd.exe and choose run as administrator.
- Now in the command prompt box type CHKDSK x : / f / r and Press Enter (x stands for the respective drive)
2. Run SFC Scan
Another reason why The file cannot be accessed by the system occurs is the file corruption. System File Checker (SFC) program can be used to scan corrupted files. Many users have reported fixing this error completely by using SFC scan. In face, it replaces the files whenever needed.
To run SFC Scan,
- Click on search box and type '' cmd '' .
- Right click on cmd.exe and choose run as administrator.
- Type the command SFC/Scannow and Press Enter.
3. Disable Anti Virus
Some Anti Virus programs are known to prevent file access. Most often this happens when your Anti Virus program misjudges a specific file for a threat. The result of this is the file totally becomes inaccessible. Hence, in this situation the error could be easily rectified by disabling Anti Virus.
4. Check Background Apps
In some instances, the apps running on the background may constantly interfere with the files causing this error. Thus, the files can no longer be accessed. The solution for this will be a clean boot. This prevent loading of unnecessary apps in the background during the boot process.
5. Format Disk
If all of the above methods fail, the last resort will be to format the drive. This method is very efficient compared to a regular disk cleanup. However, you should be aware that formatting the drive will delete all of the existing files. Therefore, always keep a backup of important files.
