Most of the large smart phone manufacturing companies incorporate NFC and Bluetooth in their devices. In fact many devices use both of these technologies together for a secure file transfer. Furthermore both and the NFC and Bluetooth establish connection between 2 devices. Besides providing connections for transferring data they are entirely different in many aspects.

Range offered by a NFC is around 4cm. Which means that you cannot move freely with the NFC connected. However there are certain advantages due to this short range too. With this short range, users can ensure that their transactions are protected from attackers. Hence, NFC requires devices to be kept close to each other.
On the other hand, Bluetooth has a range of 5-10m. Compared to the NFC this range is significantly higher. Therefore, distance isn't an issue in Bluetooth at all.
